Recently, our company received a special spectrum requirement from a customer. First, the customer was interested in our 4-channel dimming LED Grow Lights. However, the spectrum was customized according to his requirements. Customer's spectrum requirements:
CH1:4000k+660nm
CH2:765nm
CH3:730nm
CH4:365NM
The spectrum of this LED Grow Light adds the 765nm spectrum and is set to single-channel dimming. This spectrum cannot be used for too long, mainly to wake up the plant and quickly switch it from the sleep state to the synthesis state.

Why add the 765nm spectrum?
Simply put, the 765nm spectrum is an ultra-far red light, like an "alarm clock" for plants. When plants rest at night, they are actually like sleeping - not working much, not photosynthesizing much. This state is normal because plants need a "rest-work" cycle, just like us humans.
However, when the morning sun shines on the plants, they will slowly start to switch from "sleep mode" to "work mode" and enter an active photosynthesis state. The problem is that this "waking up" process may take a little time. Just like we will stay in bed when we wake up in the morning and need a few minutes or even longer to fully wake up, plants also need this transition time.
The 765nm spectrum is like a super alarm clock, which can quickly pull plants out of dormancy and put them into work mode immediately! It works a bit like giving plants a dose of "stimulants" to make them quickly "wake up" and start using the surrounding light sources to photosynthesize.
What are the special benefits of the 765nm spectrum for cannabis?
For crops like cannabis, photosynthesis and nutrient synthesis are the key to their healthy growth. If you can enter the photosynthesis state faster, it means that cannabis can use light more efficiently and convert the energy in the environment into the nutrients it needs.
Especially when there is insufficient light, the 765nm spectrum is particularly important. For example, cannabis may have limited photosynthesis efficiency in certain growth stages or in some places with poor light conditions (such as indoor cultivation). The use of the 765nm spectrum can make up for this defect, help cannabis recover faster, and start synthesizing more sugars and other important metabolites.
Why give the 765nm spectrum a separate dimming channel?
The customer asked to set the 765nm to dimming alone because this light cannot be used for a long time. Although it is a "stimulant", just like humans cannot drink coffee all day long to refresh themselves, plants also need balance. If 765nm light is used all the time, it may cause stress to plants and make them too "tired".
Therefore, we can accurately control the use time and intensity of 765nm light through independent dimming. For example, use it for some time at the moment of turning on the light to help the plants quickly enter the working state, and then switch back to the normal spectrum combination, so that the advantages of 765nm can be brought into play without making the plants "overly tired".
Conclusion
The 765nm spectrum is a very smart "tool", especially for plants that are sensitive to light like cannabis, it can significantly improve growth efficiency and yield. By designing a separate dimming channel, we can use it more flexibly, allowing the plants to get enough "awakening" effect while ensuring their overall health. This "scientific planting" method is not only good for the plants themselves, but also helps you get better planting results and higher economic benefits!
